Biodiversity, economy, livelihoods, and traditions in the South China Sea: Toward a transdisciplinary research strategy
Our project approaches the South China Sea (SCS) as a socio-ecological system in which all areas, such as ecosystem, society, politics, and trade economics, are closely interlinked. BÖLT Meer brings together a transdisciplinary research group in Germany to investigate the impacts of the geopolitical conflicts in the SCS on biodiversity, the trade economy, and livelihoods on the coasts of Brunei, China, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Vietnam.
